Capt. Gerardo "Gerry" Gambala is one of the prominent figures alongside Navy Capt. and now Senator Antonio Trillanes IV, during the failed Oakwood Mutiny on July 27, 2003. A group of 321 armed soldiers who called themselves "Bagong Katipuneros" but popularly known by the media as the Magdalo soldiers.
During his time in prison he was visited by some members of the Christ Commission Fellowship. They showed to him the power of God and the ways to salvation and change through Christ alone and not by means of force. They had all time to do their Bible Study. Changes have really come along the way for this mutineer for he was able to believe in the power of the Almighty and continues to encourage not only the his co-soldiers but also for the people he have meet.
After 5 years in prison, his prayers have been answered for he was released under conditional pardon by President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo on May 12, 2008.
At this point in time he continues to spread the Word of God through the military ministry. Really God has changed this man from a rebel soldiers to a soldier of GOD.
