Phillip "Ipe" Salvador was born on August 22, 1953 as Phillip Mikael Reyes Salvador. He is a three-time FAMAS Best Actor Awardee. Salvador was the son of the athlete and film/stage producer Lou Salvador. He is the brother to Alona Alegre Leroy Salvador, Lou Salvador Jr., Alicia Alonzo, Anthony Alonzo, Jobelle Salvador, Ross Rival (born Rosauro Salvador), Deborah Sun (born Louise Salvador) and the uncle of actress Maja Salvador. He is now married to Emma Ledesma.
He and his brother Ramon Salvador figured in legal tussle after Philip's girlfriend, Cristina Castillo-Decena, accused them of swindling. After a court trial, the court convicted Philip and cleared Ramon for the charges of duping Cristina.
Salvador was once romantically linked to the presidential sister, eventually bearing her a child —Joshua, Aquino’s first. He also admits that he rarely sees his son.
Salvador, who is a born-again Christian, said he will continue praying that the couple’s trouble would be resolved soon.
In recent years, Salvador had been trying to stage a comeback after his acting career floundered due to a number of legal impediments. He is thankful to the Lord for giving him another chance and thankful also to his friend Senator Bong Revilla for helping him in so many ways.
